Level 3 Supervising Mental Health First Aid
Course Information
This course is suitable for everyone looking to act as a Mental Health First Aider and would like an increased knowledge of Mental Health conditions and treatments.
It is also perfect for people at supervisory level and above, who want to hold a greater Mental Health First Aid Knowledge and are responsible for leading a positive Mental Health culture within a business.
This course covers a wider range of mental health conditions than the 1 Day Course, and looks at the therapy and professional support that a person may be given by professional bodies during treatment for a mental health condition.
The HSE see no difference between Physical Health and Mental Health, and UK businesses should have suitable people to help with both
Learners undertaking this course can be considered First Aiders for Mental Health Supervisors.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK is anticipating a significantly increased number of Mental Health problems in the coming years.
Our First Aid for Mental Health Courses can provide you and your staff with the knowledge and skills to identify and manage these situations, just like First Aiders for physical health.
This course runs over 12 hours spread over at least 2 days
Ideally, the course should be run over two consecutive days, but we can provide bespoke timings to suit your needs, providing it is completed within 10 weeks of starting the course and the training sessions last for a minimum of two hours.
We'll cover a range of subjects are covered including:
- What is First Aid for Mental Health?
- Identifying mental health conditions
- Providing advice and starting a conversation
- Drugs and alcohol
- First Aid for Mental Health action plan
- First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace
- A large range of Mental Health conditions covered in detail
Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)
This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years.
